Bio

Alan Blakeboro, admitted to the bar in 1980, advises businesses, individuals and public entities and represents them in civil litigation and appeals. Alan’s primary areas of practice are employment, business and real estate disputes and public pension law.

Alan is a Santa Barbara County native and is a graduate of Santa Barbara High School and UCSB. Following graduation from Berkley Law in 1980, Alan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Martin Pence, Senior District Judge for the District of Hawaii and thereafter was a litigation associate with a large Los Angeles law firm for four years before returning to Santa Barbara in 1986, building a practice specializing in complex business disputes and civil appellate matters. Alan joined Reicker Pfau in 2000 and served as its Managing Partner for over 10 years.

Alan resides in Santa Ynez, California and is active in the Santa Ynez Valley community.

Representative Matters

  • Advises employers on employment policies and practices and represents them in litigation of wrongful termination, discrimination and wage and hour disputes
  • Serves as general counsel for a public pension plan and represents the system in litigation and appeals
  • Represents business clients in disputes regarding the protection of intellectual property and appropriation of trade secrets
  • Assists property owners in resolution of claims related to easements and boundary line disputes
  • Represents business owners in resolution of disputes regarding ownership and corporate governance

Alan has successfully represented clients in numerous unpublished decisions of the California Court of Appeals as well as a number of published decisions including the following:
