ALAN A. BLAKEBORO

Alan Blakeboro, admitted to
the bar in 1980, devotes the majority of his practice to
representing businesses, individuals and public entities in
litigation and appellate matters. The non-litigation portion of
Alan's practice is primarily devoted to advising and assisting
businesses with respect to employment policies and related
matters and advising public entities in disability retirement
matters.
Mr. Blakeboro has had a wide
variety of business litigation experience in the course of his
25-year practice. After serving as a law clerk to Judge Martin
Pence, Senior District Judge for the District of Hawaii, Alan became an associate with the firm of
Adams, Duque & Hazeltine in Los Angeles, where he
specialized in business, employment and insurance litigation.
Mr. Blakeboro returned to Santa Barbara in 1986, building a
practice specializing in complex business disputes and civil
appellate matters. Alan joined Reicker, Pfau, Pyle &
McRoy as a partner in January of 2000.
Mr. Blakeboro
received his BA in Philosophy from UCSB in 1976 and earned his
law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of
California Berkeley in 1980, where he served as Comments Editor
of the Ecology Law Quarterly. Mr. Blakeboro has published
articles in the field of litigation and employment law,
including Good Faith Duties and Tort Remedies in Lender
Liability Litigation published in the Western State
University Law Review and Allocation of Proof in ADEA Cases:
A Critique of the Prima Facie Approach published in the
Industrial Relations Law Journal.
Alan resides in Santa Ynez,
California, maintains a branch office of the firm there in
addition to his office hours in Santa Barbara and is active in
the Santa Ynez Valley Community.
